Richard "Dick" C. Johnson
Richard "Dick" C. Johnson died on Friday, June 13, 2008 of a massive heart attack at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon. He was 74.
A celebration of Dick’s life will take place at a later date at his shop in Saukville.
Mueller Funeral Home is serving the family.
Dick was born on March 3, 1934 in Prentice, son of Clarence and Myrtle (nee Larson) Johnson.
He married Louise "Joann" Kalander on Oct. 26, 1957 and moved to Grafton.
Dick was in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1960.
Dick and Joann celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last October.
Dick worked for the village of Grafton for 30 years and retired in 1996. He also ran his own business for 30 years.
After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his dogs at a shop he owned in Saukville.
Dick will be remembered as an easy-going, kind-hearted person who was liked by all and willing to help everyone. He will continue to help people with his skin and tissue donation.
Dick is survived by his wife Joann of Grafton; sons, Scott (Sherry) of Aniwa, Gregg (Sharon) of Rosholt; daughter, Jill (Greg) Grimm of Fredonia; grandchildren, Doug and Angie Grimm and Garrett Bryan; and his brothers, Roger (Liz) of Gilbert, Ariz. and Gary (Sue) of Eugene, Ore. He is further survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws Gust and Margaret Kalander.
