Janis Ruth Blank

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Janis Ruth Blank at 7 p.m. this evening at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton. Janis died on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her home in Grafton, surrounded by her family. She was 83. Visitation will be held at the church today, from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is serving the family.

Janis was born in Kankakee, Ill. on April 22, 1925, the daughter of the late Theodore and Bernadine (nee Arentz) Wendtlandt. On Oct. 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Wallace Blank at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton. Janis worked many years for the Grafton Elementary School Lunch Program.

Janis is survived by her husband Wallace; children, Darrel (Shelley) Blank, David (Becky) Blank and Dale (Carol) Blank; daughter-in-law Elsie Blank; sister Doris (Roy) Wegner; brothers, Roger (Judy) Wendtlandt and Butch (fiancee Diane) Wendtlandt; and sister-in-law, Delores Wendtlandt. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Janis was preceded in death by her son Donald; her great-grandson Benjamin; and her brother, James Wendtlandt.
