Floretta C. Brunner
Floretta C. Brunner, nee Maurer, 90, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her residence in Cedar Bay West at the Cedar Community, West Bend.
She was born on May 24, 1918 in West Bend to the late Charles and Matilda (nee Marx) Maurer. Floretta married Leo Brunner on June 16,
1951 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend. Leo passed away on Dec. 25, 2000.
Floretta worked at Amity Leather for 44 years. She and her husband operated Brunnerís Orchard for more than 50 years, which included apples, raspberries and the areaís first pick-your-own strawberries.
She was a member of Immanuel Church of Christ, West Bend for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, word search puzzles and going on group trips.
She is survived by a son, Donald (Phyllis) Maurer of West Bend and their children Eileen Hanrahan, Lori Maurer and Terry Maurer, all of West Bend; Gary (Amy) Maurer of Kewaskum; and Kevin (fiancee Sharon) Maurer of Port Washington; a step-daughter, Beverly (Ray) Ertl of West Bend and their children, Susan (Jose) Valadez of Orange Grove, Texas, Mark Ertl of Muskego and Michael Ertl and Sharon (Michael) Mouradian, all of West Bend; seven great-grandchildren, Shannon Hanrahan, Heather Beilke and Mary Schmidt, Devan and Garrett Maurer, and Nathan and Jordan Maurer; six step-great-grandchildren, Nicole Spencer, Matthew, Ryan and Noah Ertl, and Makayla and Chad Mouradian; a sister, Ruth (special friend Ed Stern) Raether of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; a sister, Marie Berres; and a brother, Lee Maurer; as well as her parents.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 23 at 7 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. The Rev. Rich Vincent officiated and burial was at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Tuesday, June 24 at 10 a.m. Visitation was at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
