Lucille G. Speich
Lucille G. Speich, age 93, of Reedsburg, died on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 in the Reedsburg Area Medical Center.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1915 in Adams County, the daughter of Robert and Hazel (Walker) Heitman. On Jan. 27, 1934 she was united in marriage to Frederick J. Speich.
Lucille was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Hillpoint, the Wheelerburg Homemakers and she was a 4-H leader for over 25 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, word searches and in later years cutting the lawn on her riding mower. She also drove a team of horses on the farm for over 70 years.
Survivors include her children: Robert (Betty) Speich, of Reedsburg; Doris (Jerry) Meulemans, of West Bend; Arleen Speich (Roger Ludlow), of Kenosha and Harold Speich, of Reedsburg; a daughter-in-law: Cecelia Speich, of Reedsburg; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Blanche Bork of Grand Marsh, Mildred Heitman of Friendship and Irene Stone of Wisconsin Dells; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, on May 2, 1997; her son, Earl Speich; two brothers, Howard and Leroy Heitman; and one sister, Bernice Albee.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2008 at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Hillpoint with Rev. Richard Agenten officiating.
Interment will be at St. Johnís Cemetery at Tuckertown. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reeds-burg.
