William J. "Bill" Spies

William J. "Bill" Spies, 56, was born to eternal life on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 surrounded by his loving family and parish priest.

Bill was born into the loving arms of the late Jacob and Mary (nee Suljak) Spies on July 26, 1951 in Milwaukee.

He was the beloved husband of Cathy (nee Johnson), and loving father to Mary C., Heidi and Nickolas.

He is also survived by sisters, June (Leonard) Conti, Carlyn Conway, Lorraine Spies and Bonnie Spies; numerous family and friends.

Bill was a 1969 graduate of Cudahy High School.

He earned a BA degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwau-kee, and through the ROTC program was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant.

He served proudly for six and one half years and was honorably discharged as a captain.

Bill joined the U.S. Postal Service in Milwaukee and over the next eight years worked his way up from letter carrier to postal supervisor.

He went back to UWM and earned a business degree in information systems. Bill then joined West Bend Mutual Insurance Co. and worked there as a computer programmer and manager. After 14 years he retired.

Most recently he worked as a computer consultant for JMV Services of Dallas Texas.

Bill enjoyed working around the house, gardening, coin collecting and following current and political events. He also loved visiting Wisconsinís northwoods.

He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. Seventh Ave, West Bend, with Father Jeffery Haines officiating.

Friends and family may visit at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m.

Entombment will take place at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Ceme-tery in Cudahy at 11 a.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for his childrenís education, St. Frances Cabrini School/Parish or the Amyloidosis Research Foundation appreciated.
