Gene A. Urbaniak
Gene A. Urbaniak, 62, of West Bend was born to eternal life on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1945 in Marinette, to the late Edward and Mildred "Millie" (nee Mayou) Urbaniak, and graduated from Marinette High School in 1964.
After graduation, Gene moved to Milwaukee starting his career at Perlick Corp.
He married Helen Wahl on July 9, 1966, in Marinette, and they started a family. They moved to West Bend in 1973.
Gene retired in 2007 from Perlick Corp. after over 40 years of service.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bulls-eye shooting, traveling and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He was a longtime member of West Bend Barton Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his loving children, Paul (Laura) of New Berlin, Steven (Joyce) of Franklin and Karla (Ryan) Jazak of West Bend; four grandchildren, Alexander, Brandon, Adam and Eric; siblings, Roger (Thea), Dale (Delorus), Bill (Marie), Jerry (Dolly), Rose Ann Hartlick and Susan (Tim) Kehoe.
He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Helen, on Sept. 23, 2002; and a sister, Mary Lou.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, West Bend, with Father Mike Moran officiating.
The visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend. with continued visitation on Saturday at the church, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, immediately following the Mass.
Memorials would be appreciated to the Salvation Army in memory of Gene.
