James E. Borchardt

Funeral services for James E. Borchardt of Cedarburg were held on Sunday, May 18 at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

James passed away peacefully at Lasata Care Center on May 13.

Services were officiated by Rev. John Norquist. Burial took place at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.

Mueller Funeral Home assisted the family with making the arrangements.

James was born in Mequon on Nov. 9, 1941. He was the son of Harvey and Rose (nee Benz) Borchardt.

James graduated from Grafton High School in 1960.

He entered the Army in 1964, spending 18 months of his two years of service in Germany.

James was united in marriage to Karen Schwengel on September 7, 1968.

He spent 22 years working at the Ozaukee County Highway Department, where he was a very hard-working employee.

He enjoyed bowling, playing and coaching softball, attending Brewer games, watching auto racing, and playing Sheepshead with family and friends.

James is survived by his wife Karen and his daughter Brenda (Jeff) Bryl. Beloved Grandpa of Sierra and Skylar Bryl. Dear brother of Marvin (Connie) Borchardt. Brother-in-law of Dr. James (Judy) and Dr. Robert (Louise) Schwengel. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Hong and the skilled and loving staff of Lasata Care Center for their years of care.
