Irene E. Buntrock
Irene E. Buntrock, nee Hahn, 100, of Hartford was born to eternal life on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at her residence.
Irene was born Aug. 16, 1907 in the town of Addison to Christ and Emma (nee Uber) Hahn, and was united in marriage to Walter Buntrock on July 27, 1940 in Hartford.
Irene loved flowers, nature and enjoyed gardening. She loved dogs and cared for many pets throughout her active life.
Irene was active until her 80s and continued to maintain her 1 1/2-acre lot and orchards.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and cross stitching.
Irene was an active member of St. Johnís United Church of Christ, loved to sing and was a member of its choir well into her 80s.
Irene also was a volunteer at Cedar Lake Community.
She is survived by her son, Jim Buntrock of Cross Plains; and her sisters, Eleanor Alton of Hartford and Bertha Kress of Kenosha.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
For the past two years Irene was the constant companion of Sally Sommer of Cedarburg and Kami Waltenberg of Hustisford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1970; her brothers, Herbert, Arthur and Erwin Hahn; and her sisters, Hilda Eimermann, Rolinda Schwarz and Emily Raschka.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, with Rev. Virginia Pych officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeralhome on Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Johnís United Church of Christ, Hartford, are appreciated.
