Minerva May Riley
Minerva May Riley, nee Blank, 94, of Hartford was born to eternal life on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at The Legacy in Hartford.
Minerva was born May 13, 1914 in Poynette, to Albert and Mabel (nee Curtis) Blank, and was united in marriage to Gordon Riley on Feb. 12, 1938 in Hartford at the parsonage of the Methodist-Episcopal Church.
Minerva loved flowers, cooking and was a wonderful housekeeper.
She was always helping her neighbors out, and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital for many years.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and served on various committees, but her favorite was counting the weekly offerings for more than 30 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Minerva dearly loved her family and will be missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane Hoffmann of Hartford, June Becker of Hartford, Pat (Frederick) Korth of Muskego and Barbara (Robert) Dettman of Cottage Grove; her son Michael Riley of Tomahawk; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Bernita (Clyde) Leach of Hartford.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Minerva was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, in November 1979.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 23, at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 738 W. Monroe St., Hartford with Rev. Verlin Wandrey officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Hartford, are appreciated.
