Dorothy J. Zimpelman

Dorothy J. Zimpelman, nee Jeranek, 68, of Richfield passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Community Memorial Hospital of Menomonee Falls.

Dorothy was born on Dec. 19, 1939 to Carl L. and Evelyn (Kilman) Jeranek.

She graduated from Hartford High School, then furthered her education at beauty school.

Dorothy married James D. Zimpelman on Jan. 5, 1963 in Richfield.

Dorothy worked most of her career at Sherry’s Cuts and Curls in Slinger.

She enjoyed painting, gardening and many other creative activities utilizing her hands.

She enjoyed many bus tours with Jim and spending time at their cottage in northern Wisconsin.

Dorothy most enjoyed spending time with her cherished grandchildren.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Richfield Historical Society and the American Legion Women’s Auxillary.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, James; children, Allen D. (Evelyn) of Kewaskum, Brian C. (Karen) of Cedarburg, Tina M. (Edward) Nowak of West Bend and Eve Lyn (Scott) Teschendorf of Slinger; grandchildren, Halley, Collin, Joshua, Natasha, Zachary and Reese; and two step-grandchildren, Jordan and Leisha.

She is further survived by her mother, Evelyn Jeranek; a brother, Carl (June) Jeranek of Bemidji, Minn.; a sister, Barbara (James) Becker of Crandon; and a brother-in-law, David (Betty) Zimpelman of Hubertus.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Jeranek.

A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held Sunday, June 1, at 3 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of Slinger, with Pastor Don Koehn officiating.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunda from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m.
