Amanda Fix Schumacher, 29
Amanda was called home to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2008, in Fairfax, Va., her loving family at her side.
Mandy was born June 12, 1982, and raised near Allenton. She attended Slinger Schools and received her bachelorís degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, studying one semester in Spain.
Mandy was employed at RBC Dain Raucher and Johnson Controls until she was blessed with the job of her dreams, a political appointment in the Bush Administration. Her position was special assistant to the director of privacy in the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C.
Mandy loved to travel the world, experience all that she could in life, always with great moral character.
Amanda was a member and past president of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and a volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She was active in the Washington County Republican Women until moving to Virginia.
Amanda is survived by her loving parents, Larry and Nancy Fix; brothers, Brian (friend Jess Byerly), Dustin (Lisa); and sister, Tracy Schenck of Harlton, Texas. She is also survived by Michael Schumacher of Wauwatosa; grandmothers Loretta Sauer and Rose Wagner of Hetinger, N.D.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Amanda was preceded in death by grandfathers, Walter Sauer, Jacob Fix and Joe Wagner; nephew, Shawn Schenck; and cousin, Andy Sauer.
Mandy had a contagious spirit, protective nature, and generous heart that will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. Mandyís final gift was that of organ donation.
Services will be held on Saturday at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 215 Main St., Allenton. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m.
