Ethel M. Roloff, 88

Ethel M. Roloff (Davis), 88, of West Bend, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk.

She was born May 21, 1920, in Rhinelander to the late Truman and Lillian (Lambert) Davis and married Norbert F. Roloff on July 6, 1941, in West Allis. Norbert preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2005.

Ethel graduated from Solomon Juneau High School in Milwaukee.

She had a love for art and enjoyed painting, attending painting classes and photography. She enjoyed reading, baking and antiquing.

She also loved spending time with her family and fishing at their cottage in Marinette County.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (David) Bales of West Bend and Susan Donton of San Ramon, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Bales, Michele (Bryan) White, Sara (Tony) Esser, Christopher Donton and Sean Donton. She is further survived by her six great-grandchildren, Eliza, Natalie, Katherine, Jacob, Abigail and Jack; her four sisters, Lorraine White of Calif., Lila Mae Kelley of Texas, Shirley Woodford of California and Germaine Zabler of Wisconsin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Roloff; her parents, Truman and Lillian Davis; and three brothers, Russell Davis, Truman Davis Jr. and Dennis Davis.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Hubertus with Fr. Charles Hanel presiding.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Richfield.

Visitation will be Friday at the church only from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
