Margaret H. Klemp, 86
Margaret H. Klemp, age 86, of Kewaskum, was
called home to our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Kathy
Hospice in the town of Polk.
Margaret was born on April 4, 1922 in Campbellsport. She was the beloved
daughter of the late John and Mathilda Taylor. Margaret moved with her
family from the small town of Campbellsport to Milwaukee at the age of 7.
At age 18 Margaret left Milwaukee and moved to Big Cedar Lake where she
worked for a variety of resorts. She was later employed by both Amity
Leather and Enger Kress in West Bend before retiring in 1984.
Margaret was united in marriage to Raymond Emil Klemp on Feb. 24, 1945 at
Epiphany Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Raymond preceded Margaret in death
on Aug. 5, 1992.
Margaret was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend and
spent her life giving of herself to others. She enjoyed traveling, doing
needle point, word searches and reading books as well as magazines.
Margaret loved her weekly visits and lunches with her sisters, and will
always be remembered by her family as a very caring and loving mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
Margaret is survived by two children, Raymond A. (Dorothy) Klemp of
Kewaskum and Judith (Lawrence) Thurow of Kewaskum; four grandchildren,
Kristin (David) Pratt, Angela (Kris) Wetor, Sarah Vernatter, and Thomas
White; and six greatgrandchildren, Myles and Simon Pratt, Britney, Olivia,
and Kennedy Wetor, and Vanessa Vernatter, with two other
greatgrandchildren on the way. She is further survived by three sisters,
Betty Kilmer, Phyllis (Gerald) Sutton, and Joyce (Edwin) Holtz; two
brothers, Warren Taylor and Leroy (Ellen) Taylor; two sisters-inlaw,
Laverne Taylor and Estelle Klemp; two brothers-in-law, Edward (Karen)
Bergmann and Donald Radke; and she is further survived by many other dear
relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her grandson, Jason
Klemp; a sister, Marion Compton; and a brother, Richard Taylor.
A funeral service in honor of Margaret will be held today at 6 p.m. at
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (777 S. Indiana St. West Bend). Visitation
will be at the church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at
6 p.m. The Rev. John Paustian will officiate and burial will be in Slinger
Union Cemetery.
