Ardis June Feuerhak

Ardis June Feuerhak, 84, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Ardis was born May 16, 1924 in Amery, the daughter of Perry and Hulda (Myrvold) Iverson. She graduated from Amery High School and a secretarial school in Minneapolis.

Adrdis married Leonard P. Feuerhak on March 23, 1946 at Deronda Lutheran Church, Deronda. He preceded her in death in October, 1999.

Ardis worked as a secretary for the West Bend School District and for Apple Valley Hospital in Amery.

She was an active member of the Lutheran church all of her life, singing in the choir and participating in the women’s organizations. In Clear Lake, she was a member of Galilean Lutheran Church.

Ardis enjoyed music, special programs, religious activities, games, and visiting with staff and peers.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, the Rev. Don (Barb) of Cedar Falls, Iowa and the Rev. Ron of Ankeny, Iowa; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a brother, Dale (Brenda) Iverson of Greenville, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Eileen Iverson of Cumberland; as well as other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, and a grandson, Paul Feuerhak, a sister, Shirley, and three brothers, Lloyd, Glenn and Earl.

A funeral service for Ardis was held 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake, Iowa. The Rev. Jeff Ungs of Galilean Lutheran Church, and the Revs. Don and Ron Feuerhak, sons of Ardis, officiated. Visitation began at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to her wishes, following the service her body will be cremated. An inurnment will take place in the Deronda Lutheran Cemetery, Deronda in the spring.

Memorials may be given to Galilean Lutheran Church, Oakwood Care Center or Hospice of North Iowa in her memory.

The Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel of Clear Lake, Iowa is serving the family.
