Verna I. Sinner, 98

Verna I. Sinner, 98, of 817 Beverly Lane, West Bend, formally of the town of Sheboygan Falls, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Cedar Community, town of West Bend, where she had been a resident for the past three weeks.

She was born Sept. 14, 1910, in the town of Sheboygan Falls, daugh-ter of the late Henry and Anna (Frevert) Alves. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Reformed Church, town of Sheboygan Falls.

She attended elementary school in the town of Sheboy-gan Falls, and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1928.

On June 24, 1933, she married Roland Sinner, of the town of Sheboygan Falls. The couple made their home in the town of Sheboygan Falls where they farmed for over 50 years. They were blessed with a child, Marilyn.

After the death of her husband in January of 2000 she moved to West Bend to reside with her daughter and son-in-law.

Verna was a member of Saron UCC, in the town of Sheboygan Falls.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and belonged to several couples card clubs. She was diligent in keeping a scrapbook of all weddings, birthdays and significant events of relatives and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Guth (Don) of West Bend; two grandchildren, Darlene (Mark) Granger of Marietta, Ga., Mark (Danett) Guth of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and four great-grandchildren, Derek Granger, Matthew Granger, Mandra Guth and Mitchell Guth.

Her husband; her parents; a sister, Persida Klein; and brother, Walter Alves, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday at Saron United Church of Christ in the town of Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Kathryn Kuhn, pastor of the church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

The Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
