N. Zimdahl Jr., 75
Elmer N. Zimdahl Jr., 75, of Campbellsport died Thursday Nov. 27,
2008, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, surrounded by his loving
family.
He was born on March 31, 1933, in Theresa, the son of Elmer and
Esther (Hoepner) Zimdahl.
Elmer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to
1955.
On April 25, 1959, he married Christine Bohlman at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Eden.
Elmer farmed all his life and from 1985 to 2005 he worked at
Quad/Graphics in Lomira. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic
Church in Campbellsport.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and tractor pulls.
Elmer and Christine served as foster parents for 25 years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Christine; his children, Michael
(Shelley) Zimdahl, Timothy (Rhonda) Zimdahl, James (Kathy) Zimdahl,
Susan (Daniel) Boschert and Thomas (Rhonda) Zimdahl, all of
Campbellsport; his grandchildren, Michelle (Richard) Lemke of
Campbellsport, Matthew (Ashley) Zimdahl of Fond du Lac, Melissa
(fiancé, John Hopper) Zimdahl, Mallory (fiancé, Ryan Elliot)
Zimdahl, Merrill Zimdahl, Merrick Zimdahl, Sarah (Eric) Peterson,
Wendy Zimdahl, Angel Zimdahl, all of Campbellsport, Jamie (fiancé,
Justin John) Zimdahl of Milwaukee, Jennifer Zimdahl, Christopher
Zimdahl, Benjamin Boschert, Christa Boschert and Samantha Zimdahl,
all of Campbellsport; his great-grandson Liam Peterson of
Campbellsport; his brothers, Earl (Esther) Zimdahl of Texas and
Elsmer (Beverly) Zimdahl of Eden; his sister, Evelyn (Gerald)
Dunisch of Eden; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard and
Linda Bohlman of Sheboygan Falls, Tony and Mary Bohlman of
Campbellsport, Mary and Marvin Waldschmidt of Waupaca and Margie and
Ralph Bautzmann of Peshtigo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Esther Zimdahl; a
grandchild, Julie Marie Zimdahl; his father-in-law and
mother-in-law, James Sr. and Stella Bohlman; and a brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, James Jr. and Betty Bohlman.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St.
Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Fr. Neil Zinthefer will
officiate and cremation will follow.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until time of Mass at the
church.
Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew’s Parish.
