Myron F. DeSmidt

Myron F. DeSmidt born July 5, 1926, departed this life on Oct. 1, 2008, in Jacksonville , Fla.

Myron was born in Sheboygan to the late Foster and Alma (Burkhardt) DeSmidt.

He grew up in Wisconsin , moved to Texas , where he lived with his family for 10 years, and eventually moved to Florida where he spent the rest of his years.

Myron learned the trade of carpenter, which became his lifelong career. He excelled at this trade and was well known for his meticulous work.

On Oct. 16, 1949, he married the former Evelyn Johnson in Campbellsport.

Together they had three children; Carol (Thomas) Schacht of Switzerland, Fla.; Gary (Mary) of West Bend and David (fiancˇ, Wendy) of Hartford; two grandchildren, Jessica and Courtney Schacht of Switzerland, Fla., and future step-grandchild, Jamie of Hartford.

Further survivors include his sisters, Emily Buhk, Evelyn Kretch, Gladys Debbink, Eunice DeSmidt and brother Allen DeSmidt.

He was predeceased by his parents; in-laws; and brothers, Earl DeSmidt, Merlin DeSmidt, Vernon DeSmidt, Ira DeSmidt; other relatives and friends.
