Robert H. Beyer

Robert H. Beyer of Manitowoc died at the age of 78 on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services were held on Oct. 6 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Miller officiated at the service. Visitation was held at the church on Monday, prior to the funeral service. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc assisted the family.

Robert "Bob" was born on Jan. 29, 1930 in Milwaukee, the son of Henry and Lillian Pipkorn Beyer. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1948. A veteran, Bob served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-54. He owned the Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Cedarburg for many years before moving to Manitowoc in 1997. Bob was also a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, the American Legion, the Vagabond Ski Club of Milwaukee, and a former member and past president of the Cedarburg Chamber of Commerce.

Bob is survived by his three children and their spouses, Tamra (Michael) Dagnon of Middleton, Todd (Cindy) Beyer of Port Washington and Timm (Peggy) Beyer of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, Suzannah Dagnon, Noah Dagnon, Tanya Beyer, Andrew Beyer, Rebecca Beyer, Michael Beyer, Paul Beyer and Mackenzie Beyer; the mother of his children, Judith (Richard) Breit of West Bend; the grandmother to his children, Lorraine Gaedtke of Cedarburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Beverly) Beyer of Cedarburg; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Elinor Umhoefer of Hubertus; Doris Beyer of Pelican Lake; June (Al) Schachtschneider of Cedarburg. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lillian Beyer; and one brother-in-law, Denis Umhoefer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the American Heart Association or Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
