Henry Allan Knapmiller "Bud"

Henry Allan Knapmiller "Bud" of Birchwood died at his home on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at the age of 78. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Bud at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood. On Sunday, Oct. 12, friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake. Visitation will also be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the church, prior to the celebration of the Mass. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Bud was born on June 7, 1930 in Rice Lake, son of Elmer and Irene (nee Burke) Knapmiller. After attending school in Rice Lake, he entered the U.S. National Guard. On Sept. 6, 1952, Bud married Ruth Rydberg in Birchwood. He was in the insurance business for many years and he continued his education to become a Certified Life Underwriter (CLU).

Bud was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, the Birchwood American Legion Post and the Historical Society in Birchwood.

Bud is survived by his wife, Ruth Knapmiller of Birch-wood; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Pennie Knapmiller of Saukville and David Knapmiller of Birchwood; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Bill Buelow of Fond du Lac, Carol and Ed Paegelow of Mt. Calvary, Kathryn and Jeff Hansen of Plymouth and Patricia and Randy Klug of Plymouth; and 10 grandchildren, Eric and Karen Buelow, Jason and Nicole Paegelow, Tyler and Cole (Rachele) Hansen, Jody (Joe) Knedle, Angela and Stacy Knapmiller and Evan Klug. Bud is further survived by his five great-grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his grandson, Samuel Hansen.
