Frances M. Lackas, 83
Frances M. Lackas, 83, of Theresa died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at the Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira after a courageous, three-and-a-half year battle with cancer.
She was born June 14, 1925, in Milwaukee to Arthur and Josephine (Merten) Spaeth.
She married Reuben Lackas on May 18, 1949, at St. Peter’s Cahtolich Church in Slinger.
Frances was employed by the West Bend Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Sodality.
She enjoyed baking, gardening and quilting. Spending time with her grandchildren was something Frances always looked forward to.
Frances is survived by one son, Ronald (Pam) of Theresa; eight daughters, Patty (Dan) Lynch of Fond du Lac, Helen (Gary) Margelofsky and Kathy (Rick) Margelofsky, both of Mayville, Theresa (John) Phillips of Fairfax, Va., Barb (Kelly) McDaniels of Oshkosh, Doris (Jim) Koenigs and Ann Hoff, both of Lomira, Linda (fiancˇ Mark Rockwite) Lackas of Campbellsport; and one daughter-in-law, Hertha Lackas of Theresa; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1994; one son, Joe, in 2006; one brother, Paul; and one sister, Bernice.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Theresa, Fr. Thomas Biersack presiding.
Visitation for friends and relatives will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and on Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m., the hour of the funeral service.
Interment will be in St. Theresa’s Memorial Garden in Theresa.
