Leander A. Breitkreutz, 84
Leander A. Breitkreutz of Hartford passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at the age of 84 years.
He was born in Hartford on May 31, 1924, the son of Robert and Frances (Arbinger) Breitkreutz.
Leander married Lois (Vor-pahl) on Feb. 11, 1952, in Milwaukee.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the European campaign of World War II.
After the war, he learned to weld and worked for various companies in the Milwaukee area.
Leander loved to hunt and fish. His last big trip was to Mexico with his family, and he wanted to go back. Leander was a big storyteller.
Leander was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; and his brothers, Robert and Harold.
He is the loving father of Christine (Thad) Kluck of Greenville, Betty Breitkreutz of Hartford, Richard (Christine) Breitkreutz of Hartford, Ronald Breitkreutz of Iron Ridge, Lee (Nancy) Breitkreutz of Iowa, Bill Breitkreutz of Hartford and Steve Breitkreutz of Hartford.
Precious grandfather of Andy Kluck, Joshua, RJ, Kelly, Matthew and Amy Breitkreutz.
Dear brother of Norbert (Laverne) Breitkreutz of Fond du Lac, Donald "Schimp" (Millie) Breitkreutz of Chicago and Frances Gurtner of Woodruff.
Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Divine Savior Lutheran Church, 3200 Highway K South, Hartford. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m at the church. The Rev. Ricky P. Schroeder will officiate.
Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
