Ruth C. Joedike, 83

Ruth C. Joedike (Seyfert), 83, of West Bend, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at St. Josephís Hospital in the town of Polk.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1925, on her family farm in the town of Addison to the late Henry and Hulda Seyfert (Rosenthal).

She graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1942.

On Feb. 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Carl Joedike at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in West Bend.

For much of her life, Ruth was employed at Amity Leather as a sewer, and assisted her husband, Carl, on the farm.

She was a lifelong member of St. Peterís Lutheran Church.

Ruth was a wonderful grandmother, who loved spending time and sharing stories with her grandchildren. Her devotion was apparent with every cake she baked and each gift she purchased. Ruth made every holiday special for her family.

She also was an avid gardener who especially enjoyed raising gladiolas.

Ruth and Carl took great pleasure in traveling to northern Wisconsin and out west together.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Linda (Timothy) Parks of Slinger; her three grandchildren, Evan Parks of Wroclaw, Poland, Jeremy Parks of Minneapolis, Minn., and Leah Parks of Slinger; and her sister, Hilda Seefeldt, who resides at the Beechwood Nursing Home.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Carl.

Private family services were held at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. The Rev. Paul Reede of St. Peterís Lutheran Church officiated, and the burial followed in Union Cemetery in West Bend.
