Roman G. Ritger

Roman G. Ritger of West Bend died on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 78 years.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1930 on the family farm in Nabob to the late Alphonse and Mary (nee Wenninger) Ritger.

He entered the United States Army, serving for two years. Following his discharge, he lived in West Bend.

On July 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Elaine E. Allarding at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

In 1995, he retired from Gehl Co., where he worked for more than 38 years. Roman also was a bus driver with Johnson Bus Company and drove for the West Bend Joint School District for various district activities.

He enjoyed bowling with leagues and in tournaments, playing bingo and participating in casino trips.

He was a member of the Fr. Casper Rehrl Council #1964 Knights of Columbus, the Hexel-bank Club at Gehl Co. and served as an usher at St. Frances Cabrini Church for many years.

Survivors include his wife Elaine; three sons, Keith, Allan and David, all of West Bend; two grandsons, Alex and An-thony; a close family friend, Joey Williams; two sisters, Florence Ritger of West Bend and his twin Sr. Lorraine Rit-ger, OSF of Mil-waukee; three sisters-in-law, Rose Ritger of Hartford, Janet (Kenneth) En-right of Boltonville and Lou Ann (John) Weber of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary; and six brothers and sisters, Walter, Olive Dricken, Eleanor Dornacker, Leo, Rosie Wild and Raymond.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church with Fr. Sean Granger and Deacon Ron Schneider presiding. Burial will be in St. Mathias Cemetery, Nabob. Visitation will be at the church only on Tuesday from 4 until 6:15 p.m.
