Lorenz A. Nitschke, 95
Lorenz A. Nitschke, 95, formerly of Mayville (town of Williamstown) passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mayville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Browns Corner, with the Rev. Leonard Payton officiating.
A visitation also will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.
Interment will take place at St. Johnís Cemetery, Browns Corner.
Lorenz was born the son of Henry and Adelia Nitschke on Oct. 13, 1913, in the town of Williamstown.
He was married to Sylvia Cole on Jan. 27, 1934, at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Herman. He retired from Mayville Metal Products in Mayville.
He was a lifelong member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Browns Corner, where he was an active member of the St. Johnís Menís Club and the choir. He was also a member of the Mayville Senior Center. Lorenz was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed playing cards. He also was active in his familyís band.
Lorenz is survived by his son, Ralph (Jackie) Nitschke of Beaver Dam; special friend, Darlene Koepsell of Mayville; brother, Marvin (Trudy) Nitschke of Mukwonago; four grandchildren, Vicki Strean of Oshkosh, Debra (Steve) Wilson of Cottage Grove, Tom Nitschke of Wausau and Barb (Ernie) Riesen of Beaver Dam; nine great-grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Heidi, Derek, Danielle, Hope, Calvin Jesse and Ryan; eight great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Callia, Mya, Carter, Andrea, Austin, and Jaycee; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sylvia in 1996; three brothers and one sister.
