Henry F. Ahrenholz
Funeral services were held on Sept. 7 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Freistadt for Henry F. Ahrenholz, 86, of Mequon who saw the face of God on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008. Visitation was held at the church on Sunday and interment took place the following day in the church cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg served the family.
Henry was born in Kennan on May 6, 1922, the son of the late John and Louise (nŽe Kamp) Ahrenholz.
Henry served his country with distinction during World War II, conducting intelligence and reconnaissance activities in the Philippines from 1944-45. He was assigned to the Army’s 96th Infantry Division (Deadeye) 382 Regimental Headquarters Company.
Henry was united in marriage to Regina Langhoff on May 22, 1948 in Hamburg. He was a communications and sound systems purchasing agent for over 30 years and a longtime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Henry’s interests included electronics, lapidary, woodworking, camping and fishing.
Henry is survived by his children, Steven (Teresa) Ahrenholz and Julie (Brian) Petrowsky; grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary and Jacob Petrowsky; brother, Wilmer (Mardell) Ahrenholz; and sister, Doris (Ray) Dessruisseaux. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Regina; his son, Allan; and his sister, Evelyn Israelson.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Heritage Nursing Home, especially Tom, Nan, Kathy and Sarah.
