Lawrence J. "Larry" Herlache
Lawrence J. "Larry" Herlache of Grafton ended a long and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at the age of 55. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Larry at noon on Sept. 20 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, in Cedarburg. Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until noon, prior to the Mass. Interment will take place at noon on Monday, Sept. 22, at St. Charles Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is serving the family.
Born in Green Bay on March 30, 1953, Larry attended Premontre High School where he played hockey as well as football on the 1971 state championship team. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and was employed at Schreiber Foods, Schneider National and Manpower, Inc., throughout his career.
Larry was passionate about his role as father and took great pleasure in spending time with his family. He enjoyed running, downhill skiing, rollerblading, gardening and was a consummate Packer fan. His "spark" for life was treasured by both friends and family.
Larry leaves his best friend and wife of 20 years, Paula M. Herlache (Mazanet; Buehler); his son, Mike Mazanet; and his daughter, Lauren Herlache.
He is also survived by his brothers, Rodney Herlache (special friend Sandy De Ruyter) and Brian (Kathy) Herlache; his sisters, Carol (Julian) Abts and Mary Lee (Michael) O’Malley; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Herlache.
He is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence N. and Julia; his brother Thomas; and his father- and mother-in-law, Al and Val Buehler.
The family would like to thank the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Oncology Department, Dr. Shamah and staff of Advanced Healthcare Clinic, and Seasons Hospice for their compassionate care for Larry.
