Diane A. Thorpe
Diane A. Thorpe Age 70, of Grafton, previously of Belgium and Cedarburg, Wis., died on August 18, 2008 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital. Diane was a deeply loved mother, grandmother, niece and friend who cherished her family above all.
While raising her four children, Diane worked for many years at American Can Co. in Milwaukee and later at Home Depot in Grafton. Diane loved fishing and cooking and feeding the birds and chipmunks that visited her home and trailer, but most of all Diane was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Diane was a lover of life and a person of limitless energy and passion in all that she did. Above all, she put her family and her friends first and sacrificed much so that those around her would be better off. Diane was truly selfless in all that she did and cared about.
Diane will be sadly missed by her children Dale (Dolores) Thorpe of Mukwonago, Sharon (Mark) Benishek of Cedarburg, and Karen (Lars) Wicklund of Shorewood. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Benjamin and Emmalie Thorpe; Mark, Scott, Nick, Chris and Lindsay Benishek; and Cody Mazell and Silje Wicklund. Diane was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Saloun.
A memorial service will be held for Diane’s family and all her many friends on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Alliance Bible Church, 13939 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon, Wis. A private burial will take place at the Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg, Wis. If desired, memorials may be made in Diane’s name to the Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation for use by the Hospice Unit. Special thanks and gratitude to all those at Hospice Advantage and Columbia St. Mary’s Hospice Unit.
