Donald T. Olson, 83
Donald T. Olson "Don" of Jackson,
was born into eternal life on Monday, Sept 22, 2008, at his home in
Jackson, at the age of 83.
Son of the late Sigurd and Ellen (Peterson) Olson on May 10, 1925, in Iron
Mountain, Mich.
Don enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17. He was honorably
discharged in 1945 after serving his country during World War II.
Don met and married his late wife Maria; together raising three children.
He was a dedicated and loving father, husband, companion and an amazing
teacher of life lessons.
Some of Don’s favorite activities included playing his accordion and
singing to family and friends along with entertaining by tying clown
balloons for his grandchildren.
After the passing of his wife Maria, Don became reacquainted with his high
school sweetheart, Delores Lex. Dee became the light and love of his life
and cherished companion.
Don is survived by his loving companion, Delores; his three adoring
children, Jim (Connie) Olson, Diane (Bryant) Schroeder and John (Tricia)
Olson. He is further survived by his extended family, Diana (Daniel)
Hurley, Gary (Marge) Lex, Larry (Debbie) Lex, Tim (Chris) Lex and Tod
(Annette) Lex; as well as 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Don will be further missed by a brother, David (Beverly) Olson; and his
sister, Betty (James) Kurth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many
special friends.
A funeral service for Don will be held at noon Thursday at the Phillip
Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI 53095).
Burial will take place at 3 p.m. at Valhalla Cemetery in Milwaukee, on
Thursday.
Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service at
noon.
