Melvin L. Beistle, 73
Melvin L. Beistle, of Hartford, passed away
after a five-month battle with cancer, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008. He was
Melvin was born on Jan. 31, 1935, in
Hartford to Edward and Agnes (Zehren) Beistle.
He was united in marriage to Darlene Hug on May 10, 1958, at Sts. Peter
& Paul Catholic Church in Nenno.
Melvin worked for and later owned Schauer Farm Supplies for over 20 years.
He started Melís Trucking and then he drove semi for Share Building
Products until his illness.
He liked his Model A car, fishing, playing horseshoes, gardening, feeding
the deer and especially his 3D puzzles.
He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Melvin was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1957.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Darlene; his four children,
Jean (Robert) Luepke of Hartford, Cynthia (Dale) Yoeckel of Hartford,
Annette Breitkreutz (special friend Dale Magyar) of Hartford and Jeffrey
Beistle of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Becky (Jesse) Diels,
Nicole Luepke, Angela Yoeckel, R.J. Breitkreutz, Kristi Luepke and Kelly
Breitkreutz; one great-grandchild, Trey Diels; four sisters, Arlene
(Harold) Justman, Loretta Hackbarth, Bernice Kedinger and Patricia
(Edward) Spaeth; one sister-in-law, Donna Beistle.
Melvin is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joey in infancy,
Eldon Beistle; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Hackbarth and Kenneth Kedinger.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St.
Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Highway 175, St. Lawrence. The Rev. Joseph
Dominic will officiate.
Visitation on Saturday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of
Interment at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the Oncology Alliance Fund at Community
Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls, are greatly appreciated.
