Leonarda E. Heilmann, 95
Leonarda E. Heilmann (Sauer), 95, of West
Bend died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
She was born Sept. 23 1913 in Nenno to the late Anton and Mary (Kreilkamp)
Sauer and married Felix J. Heilmann on Oct. 16, 1934, at Ss. Peter &
Paul Catholic Church in Nenno. Felix preceded her in death on July 9,
Leonarda and Felix settled on a farm following their marriage and operated
the farm until retiring in the late 1970s. She also worked at the Fireside
Restaurant in Allenton for several years.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, embroidery, playing sheephead and
gardening. She also was an avid Packer and Brewer fan.
Leonarda is survived by her two daughters, Lorraine Boden and Marge
Baumann, both of West Bend; and four grandchildren, Mary (David) Luening
of Hartford, Michael (Karen) Wulff of Allenton, Art Baumann Jr. of
Hartford and Paul (Angie) Baumann of Crystal Falls, Mich. She is further
survived by her four great-grandchildren: Michael Wulff Jr., Mathew Wulff,
Nicholas Wulff and Megan Wulff; one great-great-grandchild; Braelynn Wulff;
her sisterin-law, Marion Sauer of St. Anthony; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roman (Ethel), Clarence
(Martha) and Melvin; two sisters, Esther (Joe) Schellinger and Belinda
(Herb) Held; and two sons-inlaw, Walter Wulff and LeRoy Boden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at
Resurrection Catholic Church in Allenton with the Rev. Richard Stoffel
presiding Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in St. Anthony.
Visitation will be Saturday, at the church only from 9 a.m. until 10:15
Memorials may be made to Resurrection Catholic Church or the charity of
the donor's choice.
Leonarda’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the
nurses and staff of the third floor Forestview wing of the Cedar Lake
Health Care Center, the Cedar Community Hospice and Dr. Todd Hammer for
the kind and loving care given to Leonarda near the end of her life, and
also to Dr. Donald Muth for his many years of compassionate care.
