Mary "Maxine" Kiessling
Mary "Maxine" Kiessling of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, at the Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, in Fort Wayne, Ind. Visitation will be held today, Sept. 25, at the funeral home, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Friday at 1 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at Lindenwood Cemetery.
Mary "Maxine" Kiessling was born on May 17, 1921 in Huntington, Ind., daughter of the late Everett R. and Mabel (nŽe Lindsay) Ellerman. Maxine was married for 38 years to (the late) Melvin F. Kiessling Sr. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed nearly eight decades of summers on Lake Wawasee and Lake Papakeechie with her family.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Martha (Aaron) Seigman of Mequon; her three sons, Melvin (Charlotte) Kiessling of Fort. Wayne, Ind., Marvin Kiessling of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Michael (Karen) Kiessling of Fort Wayne, Ind.; her grandson, Richard W. Kiessling of Fort Wayne, Ind.; her brother Evert Ellerman Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; and her sister, Betty Rose Jones of Fort Wayne, Ind. She is further survived by 19 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin F. Kiessling Sr.; and her sister, Charlotte June Hirschy.
