Hubert J. "Hubie" Doll of Hartford passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk. He was 77 years old. "Hubie" was born in Hartford on Nov. 29, 1930.

He married Elizabeth J. "Betty" Ziegelbauer on June 9, 1956, at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Hartford.

Hubie loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially playing Rummy with them. He took great pride and joy working in his yard and feeding the birds and wildlife. He enjoyed driving his truck and watching farmers do their field work.

Hubie was a proud truck driver and member of Teamsters local 200. He retired from Consolidated Freightways in 1995. He also enjoyed farming part time for many years.

Hubie was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving from 1954 to 1956.

He is survived by his children, Gary (Lori) of Hartford, Kathleen (Rick) Roeber of Maumee, Ohio, Don (Kim) of Watertown, and Tim (fiancé Ashley Zett) of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Erik, Ryan, Tyler, Ryan, Shawn, Kendra, Kaley Jo and Mason; his sister, Donna Scherger of West Bend; a brother-in-law Lambert (Mary) Ziegelbauer of Slinger; three sisters-in-law, Sylveria Infalt of Hartford, Virginia (Art) Fehring of Hartford and Pearl Black of Sun Lakes, Ariz.

Hubert is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his brothers-in-law, Calvin Scherger, Clemens Infalt and Fred Black.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church with

Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church, with mass to follow. Food and fellowship will follow the service at St. Kil-ian’s in the St. Theodore Room.

Interment at St. Kilian’s Cemetery, Friday, at 11 a.m.

Memorials to St. Kilian’s Church or the charity of one’s choice are appreciated.
