Ruth Peterson, 65

Mrs. Ruth Peterson, of Judge Drive in Saukville, passed away at Cedar Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008. She was 65 years old.

Ruth was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 27, 1943, daughter of Gordon and Beatrice (Goetzke) Brodbeck.

She was united in marriage with Charles Peterson on Oct. 23, 1965, in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Saukville in 1979.

After 40 years of marriage, Charles preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2006.

Ruth worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for the Ozaukee County Department of Aging. Previously, she had worked with Companion Care and Home Instead.

Mrs. Peterson enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren. She liked to cook and looked forward to the times her family could get together to share a meal.

Ruth is survived by her two children, Steve (Andrea) Peterson of Saukville and Dawn (Scott) Johnson of Grafton; her four grandchildren, Briana, Sean and Dylan Johnson of Grafton and Charlie Peterson of Saukville. She is further survived by her mother, Beatrice Brodbeck of Milwaukee; one brother, Gordon (Tricia) Brodbeck of Menomonee Falls; brother-in-law, John "Jack" Peterson of Milwaukee; and sister-in-law, Pat (Jim) Bennett of San Diego, Calif.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her father, Gor-don Brodbeck Sr.; and her sister, Diane Brodbeck.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington. Pastor Don Zahurance will officiate.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4 to 6 p.m.
