Kathleen A. Vetter
Kathleen A. Vetter (nee Moran), 75, of West Bend, formerly of Cable and Big Cedar Lake, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26th, 2009, at Cedar Lake Health Center. Kathy was born on April 12, 1933, in West Bend. She married James E. Vetter on Feb. 27, 1954, at St. John’s Cathedral in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2002. While living at Big Cedar Lake, Kathy was a member of Cedar Lake Yacht Club Woman’s Auxiliary and belonged to the VFW Woman’s Auxiliary of Slinger. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger. She enjoyed her many years working at Les Moises in Whitefish Bay. While living in Cable on Lake Namekagon, Kathy was involved with St. Ann’s Catholic Parish and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, gardening, crafts, reading and baking. Kathy is survived by her children, Jim Jr. (Diane) of West Bend and Jane (Greg) Bayer of Slinger; her grandchildren, Zack Bayer, Kate and Emily Vetter; step-grandchildren, Eric (Jeni) Bayer, Kim (Ryan) Niedfeldt, Kelly (Don) Reed, Stephanie (fiance Mark Weske) Bayer, Nick (Lori) Bayer; six step-great-grandchildren, Jack and Seth Reed, Alex Bayer, Max Niedfeldt, Valessa and Brianna Bayer; sisters, Berna (Herb) Brace, and Nancy Olson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene and Jerry Moran; sister, Mary Dempsey; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Dorothy Moran, and brothers-in-law, Terry Dempsey and Ronnie Olson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Slinger with the Rev. Rick Stoffel officiating. The visitation with family and friends will be at the church only on Friday April 3, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for the family to distribute at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Countryside Nursing staff and Cedar Community Hospice for the wonderful care they have given our mother for the past 5 years.
