Elroy L. Widhammer
Elroy L. Widhammer of Jackson passed away Tuesday March 31, 2009, at Froedtert Hospital at the age of 72 years.
Elroy was born on Feb. 24, 1937, in Milwaukee to Franz and Celia (nee Kuehnl) Widhammer. He was raised in Milwaukee, graduating from Messmer High School Class of 1955. Elroy served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1962. On Feb. 23, 1963, he married Marianne K. Sullivan at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Elroy retired from Evinrude Motors as a machinist after 42 years of service on July 1, 1997. He was a member of Evinrude Motor Local No. 1302 of Milwaukee and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.
Elroy is survived by his wife, Marianne, two sons, Major U.S.A.F. Michael A. (Susan) of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Daniel (Tammie) of Loma, Colo.; four grandchildren, Jessica Anne and Kelly Lynn, Torin Anne and Keenan James; a brother, the Rev. Nicholas Widhammer OFM; a sister Rita (John) Crabtree of Tuscon, Ariz.; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister- and brother-in-law, Lucille (James) Losik; and sister- and brother-in-law, Elizabeth (Bracy) Curtis.
Funeral Services for Elroy will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nicholas Widhammer officiating. Visitation will on Monday April 6 at 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment in Washington County Memorial Park.
