Robert J. Heffren
A longtime resident of Cedarburg, Jackson, Wyo., and Sedona, Ariz., Robert J. Heffren passed away peacefully Thursday, March 26, 2009.
Bob was born Aug. 6, 1923, and proudly served his country for 38 years as a Merchant Marine and in the Naval Reserve, retiring as a lieutenant commander.
Always an outgoing, generous, and enthusiastic man, Bob was well-known as an active business and religious leader in all the communities he called home. He was honored to serve several terms as president of Rotary, maintained a variety of active roles in the Christian Science Church and later with the Episcopal dioceses of Wyoming and Arizona. It is in his never ending curiosity of faith and diversity of ministry that he will be most missed amongst the many acolytes of St. Andrew’s in Sedona and the children he tutored at the Sedona Literacy Center.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and two children, James and Melissa.
Bob will remain well loved for his wonder of nature, broad smile, and deep appreciation for all he met.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 18 in St. Andrews Church, Sedona, Ariz.
Donations may be given to the Sedona Literacy Center in lieu of flowers.
