Norbert N. Broecker
Norbert N. Broecker, 87, of Kewaskum, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.
He was born Oct. 13, 1921, in the town of Wayne, the son of the late Emil and Dorthea (nee Wehling) Broecker, and on Oct. 17, 1942, he was united in marriage to Julia Miller at St. Maryís Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Barton. Julia preceded her husband in death on Dec. 11, 1988. On March 17, 1990, Norbert was united in marriage to Ruth Wollar, and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1997.
Norbert proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and was employed by Tecumseh in Grafton and Johnson Tool and Die in Kewaskum, retiring in 1983 after many years of service. He was a member of the International Machinists Union.
Survivors include five children, N. Allen (Kathy) Broecker of Kewaskum, Kay (James) Klahn of Campbellsport, Donna Mae Broecker of West Bend, Jeffrey (Carol) Broecker of Fond du Lac and Wayne Broecker of Kewaskum; eight grandchildren, Tracy Broecker, Cliff Broecker, Vicki (Adam) Arentz, Anthony Klahn, Jacquelyn (Mark) Morgan, Terence Klahn, Jennifer (Michael) Pollock and Karin Broecker; three great-grandchildren, Sydney and Cassidy Pollock and Maia Morgan; five sisters, Bertha Carlson of Milwaukee, Marrie Peters of Florida, Ruth (Robert) Helgeson, Virginia (James) Lineberger and Verna (Charles) Bailer, all of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Rita Zehren of Kewaskum and Florence Simon of Campbellsport; a brother-in-law, Francis Miller of Baraboo; six stepchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his special canine companion, Susie.
In addition to his wives and parents, Norbert was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel (Reinhold) Zuehlke; a sister-in-law, Agnes (Robert) Schenk and four brothers-in-law, Benno (Mary Ann) Miller, George Miller, Linus Simon and Eugene Zehren.
Funeral services for Norbert will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. The Rev. Edwin Kornath will officiate and burial with military graveside rites by the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery in Kewaskum.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
