Priscilla E. Westerman

Priscilla E. Westerman (nee Hartmann), 85, of West Bend died Monday, April 6, 2009, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born July 23, 1923, in Nenno to the late Emil and Catherine (nee Schellinger) Hartmann and married Cyril J. Westerman on July 27, 1946, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Nenno.

Priscilla and Cyril built and operated the West Bend Motel and Moraine Supper Club in West Bend for many years. She then worked in the pediatric department at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital. After her retirement she remained active by caring for the elderly.

She enjoyed her flowers and gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Priscilla is survived by her husband of 62 years, Cyril; a son, Robert (Nora) of Slinger; and two grandchildren, Stefanie Westerman of Washington, D.C., and Rachel Westerman (fiancˇ Jason) of West Bend. She is further survived by her brother, Roman Hartmann of West Bend; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Beulah Beisbier of West Bend, Joe (Beatrice) Mueller of Campbellsport, Lilly Westerman of West Bend and Anita Hartmann of West Bend; and nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Frederick; two brothers, Edmund Hartmann and Norbert Hartmann; her sister, Arlene Mueller, her sister-in-law, Florence Hartmann; two brothers-in-law, Byron Beisbier and Harold Westerman; and a sister-in-law Esther Hartmann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, April 13, 2009, at 5 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev. Jeffrey Haines and the Rev. Patrick Heppe co-presiding. Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, at the church only from 3:30 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. Masses or memorials to the Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County or St. Frances Cabrini Church are appreciated.

Priscilla’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lisa Hartmann and also the staff at Caring Hands of Hope for the kind and compassionate care given to Priscilla.
