Karen Schemenauer (nee Kruschke), 66, of Hartford passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at The Wisconsin Heart Hospital in Wauwatosa.
Karen was born April 15, 1942, in Gillett, to Lloyd and Audrey (nee Frank) Kruschke. She was united in marriage to Clarence Schemenauer on June 25, 1983, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Gillett.
Karen owned and operated Karen and Schemyís Place in Slinger. She was a great mother, she enjoyed shopping, and loved being with her friends and family and was always there for them and willing to help. Karen was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Chapter 332 in West Bend.
She is survived by her husband Clarence; her children Kim (Edward) Dingman of Hartford and Rodney (Erin) Sperberg of New Mexico; her grandchildren, Garr, Joshua (Jessica), Jeremy and Nathan; her siblings, Flora (Leroy) Bottensek of Wisconsin Rapids, Betty Lou (Don) Blumreich of Gillett, Pete (Lorraine) Kruschke of Gillett, Doug (Joyce) Kruschke of Virginia, Bev Wranosky of South Carolina, Wayne Kruschke of Gillett, Joanne (Ron) Montie of Michigan, and Dale Kruschke of Gillett. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her son Todd and her brother Dennis.
Funeral services for Karen will be held Saturday, April 11, at 2 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, with the Rev Doug Livingston officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment at Union Cemetery, Slinger.
