R. Kopping, Sr., 83 Eugene
R. Kopping, Sr., of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009. He
was born on April 23, 1925, to Robert and Emma (nee Nieman) Kopping in
Cumberland, in Barron County, where he was also raised. After schooling,
he began farming and then entered into the United States Army during World
War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. When he returned home, he moved to
Milwaukee and worked for American Motors and later Simplicity for over 20
years. On January 27, 1951, he married June Ellen Morency. They were able
to celebrate 58 years of marriage. Eugene loved camping, fishing, watching
western movies, attending horse and tractor pulls, and most of all,
spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He
will be missed by his loving wife, June; his children, Roberta (Paul)
Clark, Ernest Kopping, Eugene (Chris Jones) Kopping Jr., Michele (John)
Theisen, and Richard Kopping; his daughter-in-law, Sherrell Dean; one
brother, two sisters, 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his son, David; two infant daughters, three brothers
and one nephew. A
funeral service honoring Eugene will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009, at
7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend.
Visitation with family and friends will be held prior to the service from
4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment will take place on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at
