Michael L. Watson Sr
Our beloved father, Michael L. Watson Sr., passed and resurrected this Easter weekend.
This kind and generous man is perpetually positive and shares his love and light with all those he touched. Born to Mildred Casey, he was adopted and raised by Dr. Eldon and Mildred Watson. As a Ripon native, he swam the length of Big Green Lake, was an active sailor and Eagle Scout, attended the Boy Scout National Jamboree, served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard, and was a teammate of the Ripon Collegeís only undefeated, untied football team. As a true lover of the outdoors, he hitchhiked to Yellowstone and met Marty, the mother of their five children. His light carries on in Michael Watson Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, Theresa Smith of Germantown, David Watson of Hustisford, Pamela (Michael) Konrath of Slinger, and Dr. Shannon (Fiancee Tammy Gall) of Malibu, Calif.; four grandchildren, Britton, Melissa Konrath, Rob Konrath and Meghan Konrath; great-granddaughter, Jasmine; his twin sister, Patricia Wissing of Michigan; nieces, nephews, and other special relatives and friends.
This proud Irishman often said, "Always leave a campground better than you found it." And that is how he left this world. "We had a good run!"
A memorial service to honor Michael will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Peterís Catholic Church, 202 E. Washington St., Slinger, with the Rev. Richard J. Stoffel officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held prior to the Memorial Service on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment of ashes will take place at Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon.
