Harold C. Borisch

Harold C. Borisch passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the age of 85 at Kathy Hospice.

He was born in Wauwatosa on Aug. 24, 1923, to Henry and Elizabeth (nee Koppe) Borisch and raised in Glendale. After high school, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and served as a staff sergeant. Upon returning from the service, he began working for American Motors and remained there until his retirement. On Feb. 18, 1956, he married Arline E. Sterchy. Harold enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and loved camping in the summertime.

Harold is survived by his wife, Arline; children, Richard (Sharon) Sterchy of Texas, Judith (Ronald) Meyer of North Carolina, James (Debra) Sterchy of Chetek, Thomas Borisch of Washington, D.C., Betsy (Richard) Preboski of West Bend and John (Fay) Borisch of Illinois. He is further survived by eight grandchildren, Anthony, Brian, Jonathan (Emily), Ashley (Kyle), Michael, Andrew, Tim, Sara, Ryan and Justin; his twin sister, Harriet (Russ) Paukner of Mequon; brother-in-law, Arnold Baerwald; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ray and Robert.

A memorial service for Harold will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at noon at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend, with the Rev. Cheryl Matusiak officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon. Cremation took place at Paradise Cremation Services.
