Charles LeRoy "Chuck"
Charles LeRoy "Chuck" Cooley, 78, of West Bend died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
He was born Nov. 10, 1930 in West Bend to the late LeRoy and Ione (nee Horn) Cooley. He was raised in West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School.
Chuck married Marianne McKinlay on June 29, 1957 and they were married for 47 years until Marianneís sudden death on July 7, 2004.
He worked in the family business, Cooley Mfg., where he made and delivered cheese boxes until 1970. He then became a real estate appraiser and broker/salesman, working at that until his retirement.
Chuck was a private pilot and had a life-long passion for private planes and flying.
He is survived by his children, Jeanne (Jerry) Clark of Farmers Branch, Texas; and their three boys, Matt, Ben and Brad and Rick (Amy) Cooley of Campbellsport; and their daughter, Samantha. He is further survived by his sister Doris Warner of Waterford, Mich., a niece, a nephew and many cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with visitation from 1:30 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes with the special designation for the Hospice Home of Hope, your church or a charity of the donorís choice.
Rick and Jeanne would like to extend a special thank you to dadís nurse Melissa and the Aurora hospice staff for the loving care given to dad and making it possible for him to stay home for so long. We would also like to thank the staff at St. Agnes Hospice Home of Hope for making his final days so comfortable for dad and us.
