Elfriede M. Hagmayer, 93

Elfriede M. Hagmayer (nee Rehberg), of West Bend entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Kathy Hospice, after 93 years of life.

Elfriede was born on May 3, 1915, the daughter of Hermane and Dora (nee Schellhorn) Rehberg in Ripnitz, Germany, where she was also raised. She came to the United States in 1924 at the age of 9 by the way of Ellis Island. Elfriede met Adolf G. Hagmayer at Turner Hall, and on May 2, 1935, they married in Milwaukee. The couple lived in Milwaukee, South Milwaukee, Eagle, Spring Lake, and eventually moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend 21 years ago.

She was a 50-year and life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ozaukee Chapter of Port Washington and the 1st Congregational Church of Mukwonago. Elfriede loved spending time playing bridge and sheepshead, and will be remembered for greeting everyone she met with a grand smile.

Elfriede will be missed by her three children, Carol Hoyt of Sheboygan, Ronald (Ann) Hagmayer of Townsend, and Jean (Bruce) Moehrle of East Troy; her five cherished grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Earl) Radtke of Sun City West, Arizona; and sister-in-law, Anna Lambach of West Bend. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other special relatives and dear friends.

The Hagmayer family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff at Kathy Hospice for their compassionate care.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with Chaplain David Stone officiating. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. at Cedar Ridge. Entombment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11 a.m.

The Hagmayer Family would like to extend their thanks to memorials contributed in lieu of flowers to either Kathy Hospice or to Church of the Air of Sheboygan.
