LeVerne L. Kealiher (nee Samuelson), 84, of Slinger, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 25, 2009.
LeVerne was born on March 13, 1925, to Henry and Lydia (nee Nelson) Samuelson in Stromsburg, Neb. She is a graduate of Stromsburg High School, class of 1943. She married Gordon E. Kealiher on May 26, 1946, in Swede Home, Neb. After marriage, the couple moved to Stevens Point, Milwaukee, Germantown and then to Slinger. She attended Marion College in Fond du Lac, receiving her bachelor of arts degree in special education. LeVerne taught special education in the Slinger School District for over 25 years, retiring in 1990. LeVerne loved being with her husband, Gordon, her children and cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
LeVerne is survived by her husband Gordon; children Larry (Beth Anne) of West Bend, Debra (Robert) Suski of Erin, Rhonda (Jeffery) Bagley of Jackson and Connie (Richard) Jorgensen of Colgate. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy (Marie) Kealiher, Victoria (Eugene) Koresh, Timothy (Courtney) Johnson, Scott and Laurie Jorgensen; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Johnson of Portland, Ore.; brother Earl (Ruby) Samuelson of Kansas City, Kan.; special friends Jerry Ball and the Lloyds; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vera and brother, Morris.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend with the Rev. David Stone officiating. Interment will follow service at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, from 11 a.m. until time of service. Memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Assoc. or the Charity of your choice in LeVerne’s name.
