Norman Henry Louis Eifler

Norman Henry Louis Eifler of Cedarburg, was reunited with his beloved wife on Monday, April 27, 2009, at the age of 90.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1919, in Cedarburg to Oliver and Ella (nee Pergande) Eifler, who had preceded him in death. Norman attended Cedarburg schools and the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He later served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a dairy farmer, welder, and a local business owner of Eifler’s Country Store.  Norman was a very giving person, who loved hunting and the outdoors. 

Norman was married to Florence Julia (nee Behling) Eifler on Sept. 14, 1940 and their marriage was blessed with five children. 

Norman is survived by his five loving children, Wendy (David) Stencel of Grafton, Nancy (Franz) Schubert of Waubeka, James (Sarah) of San Antonio, Texas, Ellen (Carl) Heilgendorf of Fredonia, and Scott Eifler of Hartford; nine grandchildren, Jane, Jeffrey, Jill, Megan, James Jr., Norman, Mackenzie, Madisyn and Mikayla; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Johnathan, and Jackalyn; and a sister, Dr. Carol Craig of South Hadley, Mass.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Norman was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, and he was also a member of the Peter Wollner American Legion Post 288 in Cedarburg, as well as a member of the NRA.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, N60 W6047 Columbia Road, Cedarburg, with the Rev. Brent Halverson officiating. Interment will be at Zur Ruhe Cemetery. Norman will lie in state Wednesday at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
