John J. “Jack” Gadouas


John J. “Jack” Gadouas of Ohio, formerly of Hartford, passed away at his home in Ohio, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 at the age of 85 years.

He was born Jan. 6, 1924 in Wauwatosa. John served his country in the United States Army. He worked at the National Guard Armory in Parkersburg, W.V. For a time he worked at Leader Cards, Inc. in Milwaukee, DeMuth Glass Works in Vienna, W.V. as a machinist and at the Pabst Brewery in Milwaukee, where he retired. John had mechanical abilities, carpentry skills, knowledge of farming and baking, and the ability to learn new jobs and to read blueprints. He was very conscientious in all that he did.  John enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and hiking.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sons Joseph and Richard, and a brother Richard.

Jack is survived by his wife Blenna “Willa” Gadouas; his children; Lloyd (friend Rhonda Bully) Gadouas, Leana (Dave) Ozminkowski, Jack (Marcia) Gadouas, Anita Gadouas, Joan (Eric) Hol-comb, June (Denny B. Yentzer) Cottrell, Paul (Barb) Gadouas and his brother Bud (Grace) Streeter.  Also survived by 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, 226 S. Main St., Hart-ford.  Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home.  Interment St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery.
