Ralph Frank Schulteis, 73, of the village of Richfield, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 at his residence.
Ralph was born on Sept. 30, 1935 to Albert W. and Clara C. (nee Hennes) Schulteis on the family home in Richfield. He married Leila Marie (nee Schellinger) on July 21, 1956 in St. Lawrence.
Ralph was a member of the Richfield Fire Department for 42 years of service, Richfield Historical Society, Richfield Park System and St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Hubertus.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Leila; and children, Pamela Monroe, Debora, Ralph (Stacie), Steven (Liz), Sandra (Robert) Sandlin and Rosanne (Gary) Hefter. He is further survived by his grandchildren, David (special friend Chelsea Bach) Monroe, Joseph (Lyndsay Foley) Monroe, Katie and Molly Schulteis, Michael (special friend Adrienne Streng) and Andrew Schulteis, Jared and Skyler Sandlin, Rebecca (special friend Tony Gehring) Schroeder, Garrett Hefter and Jessi (Ryan) Butzke; two great-grandchildren; sisters Burnette Achenreiner, Mar-garet Held, Eleanor Mergener, Mae Bayer and Marilyn (Ted) Merten; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Theo-dore and Albert; sister-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church of Hubertus, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, with Rev. Quintin Heck officiating. A private interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery of Richfield. Visitation will be at the church only on Friday, Aug. 14 from noon until time of Mass at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Richfield Historical Society or St. Gabriel Parish.
