Agnes Metternich (nee Moyer), 85, of West Bend, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2009.
Agnes was born on Feb. 1, 1924, in Seattle, Wash., to the late Gilbert and Leila (nee Thornton) Moyer. She worked until her retirement for Landvatterís in West Bend and then moved to Phillips, where she enjoyed reading, sewing, a good card game and long rides in the northern woods of Wisconsin.
Agnes is survived by her twin sister, Ellen Erickson of West Bend; and daughter, Susan (Max) Driggs, of Richmond, Calif. She is further survived by numerous stepchildren and grandchildren. She has been lovingly supported throughout her life by stepson Thomas Landvatter and his family; and by nephews, John Erickson (Shirley), Wayne Erickson (Susanne), Kenneth Erickson, Ronald Erickson, and their families. She was predeceased by husbands, Julian Carter, Frederick Landvatter and Robert Metternich; and her beloved grandson, James Driggs.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Our Saviorís Lutheran Church of West Bend with The Rev. Alexander Jacobs officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 6 p.m. until time of service.
