James A. Blank

James A. Blank, 44, of West Bend, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

He was born on Dec. 27, 1964, in Milwaukee to Richard and Barbara (nee Love) Blank. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1983. Jim had a strong love for his country and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 1986. Following his service in the Army, Jim attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, earning a degree in electrical engineering technology. Following his graduation from MSOE, Jim was employed at MSOE for more than 20 years.

On Feb. 8, 1997, Jim was united in marriage to Jennifer Fritz at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Grafton. Jim was a wonderful husband and daddy. He was also an active member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; three children, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Matthew; two German exchange students, Marvin and Philipp; his parents, Richard and Barbara Blank of Port Washington; two sisters, Lynn (David) Hernikl of Wausau and Christine (Steve) Baumann of Lake Mills; a brother, John (Debbie) Blank of Sussex; his parents-in-law, Dr. James and Sally Fritz of Three Lakes; two brothers-in-law, James (Jackie) Fritz of Cedarburg and Jonathan Fritz of DeForest; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services in remembrance of Jim will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 777 Indiana Ave., West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services. Jim will be buried with military honors at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove.

Memorials would be appreciated for Jimís childrenís college funds.
